I agree with other commenters. My company just moved over to Xero, but only as a temporary measure until we are ready to make the move to NetSuite, all because I need this functionality with Quotes. Why Xero developers don’t see this as important is bewildering.

Hi Xero, firstly I want to commend you on providing such a comprehensive API allowing us to integrate Xero into our development environment where others don't provide this service. Overall it's fantastic. However I do concur that not providing quotes as part of your API is a major oversight and it's one that has really impacted on us being able to easily integrate Xero into our development environment. We have worked around the limitations by using draft invoice instead of quotes, but this poses a number of limitations such as our accountant being able to consistently see all quotes that are open and when they expire. Additionally quote expiration is something that isn't supported with draft invoices, meaning we have to make do with using the same expiration field as an invoice expiration. It's really hacky and very clunky. We've had to rename a "DRAFT" invoice to state "QUOTE" so that it appears as a quote when printed, however when using the API call to download this 'quote' it then prepends "INVOICE" to the beginning of the file name - far less than ideal! It would be really great if you guys could get onto completing this endpoint - by the looks of it we're not alone in really needing this!

This API is needed. Don't see any reasons not to have one.

This is really shameful. After so many years, still no commitment from the devs! It's such an easy API we would develop it ourselves if we could!!!

We were happy with Xero. Happy enough to lock our company into your platform by tightly integrating our self-service quoting portal with Xero through the API.

Due to your dropping the ball on this fundamental feature for over 72 months, we are now shopping around for alternatives.

We couldn't care less about webhooks or marketplace.

Xero: "Quotes API" -- "Cool ideas"

I believe Xero misspelled "fundamentals".

Really needed so have given up waiting for Xero and taken up NetSuite - I was willing to pay for this functionality - waiting since 2016

I need to at least be able to retrieve information about existing quotes from the Xero system, even if creating quotes via the API is on the back burner. Is there any status update on this, moving forward?

So Xero if you aren't going to proceed, just be honest with all those waiting since 2016 for this to be available and let people know. It's a drain on your credibility karma and as a developer I just simply tell customers why we can't work with Xero quotes. Is it really worth the bad press just to ignore the community?

Every so often I google "Xero Quotes API" after getting frustrated with our manual processes around quoting, and I come back to this thread. It seems like it ought to be pretty easy to do. I just want to get to Quotes in the API the same way as we do invoices. Not that fussed about a new developer portal or webhooks.

April 2018... Still no api for quotes...we have been paying our employees the extra time to use our ad hoc work around till xero quotes came online with an api that could integrate into our crm... thats been a few years now... we are all tired of this clunky system... and are starting to look elsewhere for a all in one solution..

I'm testing Xero for migration of my existing system. Without being able to import/export quotes, either from the GUI or the API, is a non-starter for me. I don't want to invest the $$ to bring over my old data for historical KPIs

I just switched to quickbooks to make my life easier. I suggest other who need this feature do the same. Thanks for taking 3 years to look into this. I could have built my own Accounting API software in that time

In June 2015 Xero told us that " Work has begun to expose quotes functionality in the Xero API. There are some internal changes required in Xero before we can make this happen but aiming to have GETs live by early August"

Xero, do you think that it is OK that in February 2018, nothing has progressed?

Guys, please provide a simple way for us to report on quotes details? Nothing fancy, even just a csv dump of quotes. The absence of this really makes life difficult when you're trying to manage large volumes of quotes.
