Integrate with bill.com in the US. Bill.com is allowing us to take our clients paperless and online.
Bill.com gives us the ability to take our clients' full business process into the clouds. At the same time, we can make them paperless. It really works great for small to medium-sized businesses. However, bill.com synchs with QuickBooks, and NOT Xero. Adding this capability would further enhance our Xero offerings in the US! Thanks for all you guys do!
We are delighted to confirm that the Bill.com integration with Xero is now out of beta and officially launched: http://blog.xero.com/2013/06/bill-com-command-and-control-your-cash-flow/

I've noticed that the Bill.com sync is very problematic, after an invoice is paid. There is virtually no way to edit basic fields, such as the relevant expense accounts, without throwing a sync error that then spirals into a very big mess to unwind. This appears to be because PAID status invoices cannot be edited. Is this still the case? Are there any plans to change this? I would love there to be an exception for super-admins at least, such that paid invoices can be updated via API. Currently there is no way for me to update even the date or invoice number, without breaking the sync, once the invoice is paid, which throws the two systems irretrievably out of sync with each other. It is virtually possible to resolve even a simple issue like this without a call to tech support, and I am a very tech savvy individual. Is there hope in sight for this to be resolved, or not?

As soon as there is some sort of online bill pay service, we will be switching from Quickbooks!

I have personally hesitated from using xero because it lacks this integration and job costing. Once these two issues or capabilities are added, I am onboard.

The benefits of Bill.com are many. 1) Approval process allows for electronic routing of bills to be paid. 2) Document storage is included at no additional cost. You can upload signed contracts, pictures, Excel files, just about anything within reason. You can attach documents to accounts like bank statements to bank accounts, insurance policies to expense account, loan documents to the liabiity account. 3) Sharing of documents between customers, vendors, your staff and anyone you grant access. 4) Links to documents are imbedded in accounting software so you can easily link to the underlying transaction documents, pix, contracts etc.. 5) Bills are paid on Bill.com bank account and withdrawn in lump sum the day before payment is to be made and so reconciling the bank account is much easier. Bills and Bill.com bill payments run through a clearing account. That doesn't start to cover the A/R side of things. I HOPE THIS INTEGRATION HAPPENS SOON! It is a WONDERFUL product!!

Ditto all the above. Bill.Com is an amazing tool, and a QB style sync would be awesome for so very many cashbook clients that could instantly be moved and love the benefits of Xero.

I echo every comment here, this would be HUGE. I could bring almost every client I have over if this happened.

To me the "what" is less important than the "why." As stated in an earlier email to you guys, currently there’s no good automated system for small businesses to manage their finances online. The reason for this is that Xero as it currently exists only gives me the same inaccurate and outdated information provided by my bank. What do I mean by that? It only shows past transactions, not payments I’ve made that haven’t posted yet.
So, I’m left with two options that are both less than ideal:
1. Use QuickBooks Online and suffer with their poor interface and support, but at least be able to sync with Bill.com to get an accurate picture of how much money I have.
2. Use Xero’s slick interface and API but never know how much money I actually have, unless I log in to my bank’s bill pay service or Bill.com and manually transcribe outgoing payments...which of course is an error prone process that’s easy to forget!
I certainly see I can enter outgoing payments in Xero and then export them, but don’t know of any bill pay service that accepts batch uploads. Even if I did, that is the sort of tedious manual process that accounting software in the cloud is supposed to eliminate.

But if xero had the same functionality built in, i'd prefer to just use xero and not multiple systems. Doesn't xero have some of the functionality already?

Yes, that's the one thing that would make xero our choice as well!

please!!!!! this is the one thing keeping me (and three guys I know) from converting to Xero. Stuck on quickbooks at the moment.
Integration of the type they do with QB, Intacct, PeachTree, etc would be amazing.

I agree 100%... especially since Xero is not US-based and isn't very helpful when it comes to 1099 reporting (for Cash basis accounting at least) bill.com integration would be a huge value add for managing payables.

I completely agree with other users on this. As a CPA, I am excited to see the integration of Xero and Bill.com. I am disappointed that it is not high on the priority list based on the priority list, but as a CPA, my one vote represents the many businesses that I service.

Bill.com gets better and better. Their A/R and A/P paperless workflows really transform businesses in HUGE ways. This will be awesome when it happens.

Indeed. This and other accounts payable services are very handy for those of us with integrated platforms and hundreds of customers.
