    Thanks for your continued feedback and patience on this long-standing request. Our team has started to build this out, and we're looking forward to sharing more as development and testing progresses.


    This release will introduce a new Account Data API, giving you the ability to retrieve account balances, movements, and transactions from the chart of accounts directly via the API.

    As part of this work, we'll be running a beta in October if everything goes to plan with a small group first, so we can test the experience and gather feedback before broader availability. We'll continue to post updates here as we reach key milestones.


    If you are interested in being part of the beta please raise a support ticket with us via api@support.xero.com and be sure to share your App ID/Client ID. You will need to be on the Advanced developer plan to access this API FAQ

    10 years later this is still an issue - for future people arriving here by search, I've made a post on the developer community API Endpoints section, check it on the off-chance there is newer information within https://community.xero.com/developer/discussion/131333596/
