   Read-only API access to chart-of-accounts templates in Xero Partner Hub.

   I’m a developer building an internal Plaid-to-Xero integration for an accounting practice.
   We would like an API that lets authorized integrations list the practice’s chart-of-accounts templates in Xero Partner Hub and retrieve each template’s account codes, names, types, descriptions, and available tax and reporting information.

   Our app maps bank transaction categories to Xero account codes. Access to the practice’s templates would let staff configure reusable default mappings, then apply those defaults to clients while preserving client-specific exceptions.

   We need access to the practice-level template library, not just the chart of accounts already present in an individual Xero organization. Xero Support confirmed that these templates are currently unavailable through the API, requiring manual CSV exports and imports into our application.

   Read-only API access would remove that manual step, make template updates easier to synchronize, reduce mapping errors, and speed up client onboarding. This would be especially valuable for accounting practices managing many clients with standardized charts of accounts.
   We are requesting permission-controlled, read-only access, not the ability to modify templates or automatically change clients’ charts of accounts.
