Integration with other products

Please let us know here what products you’d like to see integrated with Xero. In most cases, Xero won’t be able to build an integration ourselves, but if it receives enough votes, we will make contact with the other product and see what we can do.

Please note this is to track suggestions for integration ideas – we cannot guarantee an integration will be possible.

  1. authentication

    Hi,

My name is Siddharth, while I am exploring XERO for integrating with java based application, i see a challenge always to send the clientid and client secret in standard flow of authentication , this I see is a must have neccessity to get access and refresh token in callback, my feedback would that when we do an OAuth based integration , can we just use the code and state to get the access token and refresh token , getting the clientid from front end everytime will always be a challenge .

  2. show credit limits & ratings of my customers

See credit limits of my customers so that I can see how much credit I can give them and see how quickly they pay their invoices. We use Creditsafe to check this information right now but would be amazing to include this within Xero.

  3. Hide Vendors/Suppliers Info from employees

Vendor/Supplier contact information is as confidential as trade secrets and should be kept from employees eyes. Lot's of efforts and money is spent to find good suppliers thus it should not be visible in the same list as customers.

  4. imported invoices include bank payments lines

It would be great if we could add bank payments as a line in the csv import files. Many businesses like ours need to just enter a sales summary covering an entire day in one invoice. We have specialist POS software for our business which does not issue invoices to clients, and our POS software does not connect to XERO.

We can import the invoices but the bank payments data (cash/credit card breakup) cant be included in the import for the day, Creating manual work.

  5. Attributed invoicing

This could actually be listed under a few headings but here it goes: I would like to have the ability to allocate a cost to a contractor when I create invoices using my inventory schedule.

    How I see it working:
When you create an invoice or add the payment of the invoice there should be the ability to attribute a sum to the contractor responsible and this would then populate their current invoice.

This would make reconciling contractor invoices really simple as you will of course be creating them and the detail will match the dates of your payments.

  6. pass the receiver paypal email address (we have several) to Xero for use with bank rules

I use one paypal account for two businesses. I want to be able to account separately the sales for each company. I know i could get separate Paypal accounts, but then my transaction fees will go up.

So paypal payments sent to orders@slovenly.com would set off one bank rule

payments sent to orders@stickerguy.com would set off another.

  8. Intergrate with DEBTMAN

Debtman is a stand alone software product debt collection agencies use to collect debts. They have developed an API in to xero but there isnt one from xero out. You have to be a debtforce client to use this software but i hear they are about to release a "do it yourself" collection package with the xero api being part of it.

  10. Create a Xero payroll system

It would be great to be able to do it all in one place. Also, a lot of other payroll systems would not complement the Xero ease of use or aesthetics. They also tend to charge a lot for something that is done at reasonable prices by banks. I think it would be great if Xero could make a simple add-on Payroll System.

  12. Why can't you just build time tracking into Xero?

Ok, so there a few other applications (WorkFlowMax, MinuteDock etc) that play nicely with Xero for time time tracking - but I believe this should be an integrated part of the software anyway like in Freshbooks. All those in favour say....

Thanks for everyone’s interest in this.
Xero does not currently have any plans to provide time tracking functionality within our application – the dfference between billing application such as Freshbooks and Xero is that Xero is a full accounts system – we want to concentrate on this and leave things like job and time tracking to applications that specialise in that space.

We now have lots that does this type of thing, I would encourage you to check out our time tracking Add-ons: http://www.xero.com/advisors/solutions/timetracking/

We never say never though, so if you still want to see this in Xero, keep letting us know – we have a recently launched feature requests forum for the main application that is the best place to discuss: https://community.xero.com/business/topic/23/

  13. Read receipt on emails sent

Essential to get a read receipt on invoices sent in Xero.. A date stamp of when the recipient received/ read email would stop all Hesitation when customer said they didn't get it.
Not good enough to have date stamp of when sent.
    Similar system to outlook

  14. P&L Reports Per JOB.

Quickbooks has this cool feature, when i plug in an invoice, i can like it to a JOB, a CLIENT and a VENDOR, so that if i wanted to know exactky how much money i made from that client at the end of the year, i can but if i wanted to know how much money i made from that client on ONLY events, or graphic design, for example, i CAN .. xero would do amazin if it can have JOBS under clients and what not :)

NB: while Xero does not support JOBS, the tracking category feature of Xero does provide a similar function: https://help.xero.com/Settings_Tracking

As this forum is for developer API functionality requests and yours relates to something that would need to happen in the main application, I’m afraid we have to decline this suggestion, but don’t take it personally – we would still love to see you make your suggestion in the Xero Community forum: https://community.xero.com/business/

  15. referrals

Xero should give Referral Credits (Brownie points) to existing customers who introduce or bring in other customers (paying). This has become a very effective way to introduce more people to a SaaS concept..

  17. Customers with multiple delivery adresses.

Allow separate delivery address for invoice to allow for 1 customer with multi branches or one off delivery to a different address.
At the moment I have this one customer set up as 3 customers, 1 for each branch. This is OK and how I did it with my previous system but I could have the head branch as the invoicing address and then pick the sub branch as the delivery address.

Apologies that this request has been in the integration requests forum for quite a while without response. This is actually a feature request for development of Xero itself, and we have an active thread on this here: https://community.xero.com/business/discussion/71041

I would encourage you to add your vote there and it is always useful to leave a comment and let us know a bit more about how you would like to see this working – helps us build the right solution.
