An error occurred while saving the comment Users are asking about this periodically. As a Xero App, it is frustrating that we cannot implement this for users that use Datamolino line items exports into Xero. Datamolino is heavily used for line items in Xero. It would be real nice if Xero would get around to actually implementing this.

An error occurred while saving the comment In december 2017 I have received a response in the public Xero API Trello board that this will be part of the functionality https://trello.com/c/S7arjEKr/52-xero-projects-api
It is very hard for us to explain to users why this is not possible, when they can do it in Xero UI.
So currently they have to handle each bill TWICE - once to export it to Xero and then go to Xero and assing the expense to the project. Imagine that you need to do this on 500 invoices per month. Don't imagine. Try it yourself.
This is relevant for the whole data capture category - Dext, Datamolino, Autoentry, Hubdoc. None of these apps can have this functionality because the API does not support it.

An error occurred while saving the comment This is a bummer. Our users now have to do extra steps to edit this directly in Xero while we could automatically populate these fields as part of data capture.
