add more placeholders to email templates
I love the mail-merge style placeholders you've added to the email templates, but there could easily be more!
For example the "Contact Name" - a lot of my customers are businesses, so the emails will say "Hi ABC Company Pty Ltd" which looks silly. I've added the contact names of the actual people I deal with at those companies into the Contacts section of Xero, so having access to "Contact First Name" for example would be excellent.

From the details of this request it seems like this is a general Xero feature request rather than a developer API request.
For that reason I’m declining the request on this forum but encourage you to add your votes and comments to Xero’s main feature request forum:

[Invoice Reference] would be great so the customer can see what the invoice is for and it will be searchable in their email software if necessary.

Could you please provide here and send to me an update on which placeholders you will be adding - and when?
I'm assuming since you have the overall functionality for this great feature completed and available, it wouldn't take you much time or effort to add a few more placeholders - and thereby make our Xero and lives so much more efficient and better. Think of the gift you can give to the world to make all our lives better!
I often wish for and would appreciate the folllowing:
[company_name] - independent of Contact Name, used just for email templates
[last_month] or [last_month_and_year]
[current_month] or current_month_and_year]Are there any 3rd-party tools or "workarounds" we could set up and use until you can add these?
Many thanks in advance!
Denis

[invoice date] would be good also

Having [inventory_item] would be very handy too to help clients understand what exactly the bill is for.

Yes definitely. These placeholders are great however I would like to be able to use the invoice reference as a placeholder.
