Invoice Email PDF Attachment
Currently you cannot send the PDF version of the invoice as an attachment to the invoice via the API.

It is critical to our business for the Xero API to send a pdf invoice in order to be paid in a timely manner. I am receiving emails every day questioning whether the link is a scam and for security reasons companies will not open a link. The basic requirement is to receive a pdf invoice so that it can be automatically uploaded into accounting software.
We have a connection with microsoft dynamics. The Xero api has a limitation which does not give access to the part of the invoice email send that sends the pdf directly.
I also feel that the invoice reminders should also contain the pdf rather than just a link. -

We also heavily rely on the Xero API to trigger the send of the invoices from Xero.
This has become a much bigger problem since the link in the email to access our Xero Invoice has had the landing screen changed. users now only see a high level summary of the invoice (not the whole invoice) and a spot to pay via card. Majority of our customers pay via EFT. We did not get notification that this was changing and Xero support have said its a global experiment thats working as planned and no plan to change it back. This is causing concerns amongst our customers who are now unwilling to pay because dodgy links are a scam and they dont want to pay via card details (until we explain to everyone of our customers how to download the pdf).
Majority of our customers pay via EFT details and need to see the whole invoice for details of what we were billing for and for their audit purposes.
This issue seemed to change when we were updated to be e-invoicing registered.

This is super critical to our workflow. There's little to no point in generating invoices via the API if related files can't be attached to the emails when they're sent out

We heavily rely on the Xero API to streamline our business accounting processes, particularly for automating the triggering of invoice emails. However, a significant challenge has emerged as we are unable to include the invoice as a PDF attachment in these automated emails. This issue has become more pronounced due to our clients adopting a security-conscious stance towards embedded links in emails, driven by compliance requirements with third-party bodies such as ISO.
In response to our clients' heightened information security standards, we find ourselves manually triggering emails from within the Xero UI. While this isn't excessively time-consuming, it becomes a notable inconvenience considering the majority of our accounting operations are automated through the API.

If unable to send PDF invoice attachments via API, check documentation for format requirements. Consider alternatives like file conversion, linking to hosted PDFs, or base64 encoding. Contact the API provider for support or updates on future features https://treasuryprime.com/.

We use the Xero API extensively to automate our business' accounting process. Triggering Invoice emails via the API is a time saver; but not being able to include the invoice attached as a PDF to this triggered email is quickly becoming a major issue for our organisation.
Our clients are shifting to a more security conscious approach to embedded links in emails. Alot of this shift seems to originate from becoming more Info Sec compliant with 3rd party bodies such as ISO, etc - such that all links should be considered malicious and not to be engaged with due to phishing potential.
Due to our clientele's info sec requirements, we're having to manually trigger emails from within the Xero UI, which isn't a huge time sink, but annoying when the majority of our accounting is automated via the API.

Lots of our customers won't accept invoices via hyperlink - so this adds another step to our workflow and takes time to log into Xero and send manually. Kind of defeats the purpose of the API being used through our CRM.

How hard can it be! The function must already be there in your library, just expose it to the API

Very critical for us. We use API to generate invoices and want to send PDF invoice and additional PDF attachment in e-mail. Such functionality is available in Xero UI. So what is the problem to add this in API?

I am having difficulty getting invoices delivered to certain large clients who will not click on a link to download an invoice due to security concerns.

Please can we have some movement on this, Xero. This is crucial!

This is super important. We end up having to send invoices twice because our customers also use OCR via their automated accounting packages.

Hi Xero. Can we get some traction on this please? A lot of our customers use OCR that relies on a PDF

Our customers require this feature as clicking a link in an email doesn't work for some of them.
Any news on when this will be available.

Hi Team - do we know when this will be implemented? It seems that Xero already have a PDF/Image parser in the backend because of the bills email address. It would be great to extend this functionality to the API.

Yes please, Xero! It makes no sense that invoice PDFs can't be attached automatically...

This is absolutely crucial! Large organisations must have PDFs for their automated AP systems.

Increasing numbers of clients are using automated invoice processing systems, requiring a PDF for processing. This is true of most of the government organisations we deal with, so this feature is critical.

Imperative, large organisations do not accept links into their automated AP systems. Must have PDF attachments.
