I would like to have facility to add custom notes through API.

We've been working with the API for over a year and are in the process of acquiring more data on invoices and are very surprised the lack of notes being available when requesting a single invoice.

History and notes would be great for Customers! So that relevant data from a CRM program can sync. :)

Very useful for attaching custom info to Customers as well.

We also need the Notes feature.
Our mobile app creates invoices in the form of a secure URL.
It would be extremely useful to the Xero accountant to be able to look at the imported invoice data in Xero, but then click on the link to see the actual invoice from our mobile platform.

Otherwise, the Xero accountant has to have both Xero and our app open.

Just moved to Xero and assumed this feature would be present. We'd like to see this for Invoices and Payments so additional "unstructured" information which is important can also be recorded.

Very useful for being able to add information after undertaking API activities.

Have you even tried this? The Xero interface does tell you if the invoice came through the API. If you want to check this on a third party system, just store the fact you sent it through to the API in the first place.

i'd at least like to see if the invoice was created via the api or not...
