Our system of quoting and invoicing works on quotes to client, then approval to draft invoice for approval then onto final invoice. Until the quote api is released, 3rd party integration from our CRM to Xero is useless and we will have to continue double keying quotes. The inclusion of quotes in your api would be amazing for us, and I'm sure others.

This would be an excellent addition. Having access to complete lead generation work flow would be invaluable. What good is using draft invoices if Xero already has Quotes functionality built in.

We are spending many hours per day re-keying all quotes into a production report, a basic dump of all quote data would allow us to reformat this into a useable format. Saving many hours and improving visibility no end.

Pleeeease can we have an update on this? Even a basic report option to dump all quotes to Excel would be a huge step forward and allow access to the data. As I'm sure many organisations have - we track Invoicing progress against quotes in a temporary XL solution - all fully automated apart from the input of quote info which is laboriously manual checking for all revisions etc.

As a prospective Xero user we had assumed the API would have CRUD operations for Quotes, so this is a setback. I hope it really is a top priority feature ... it's now almost year-end 2015, the last update I see from Xero is July 28, 2015.

This was my question to Support, to which the answer seems to be to wait, but I must emphasise and agree with everyone else this requested facility is essential for good workflow and office efficiency. Xero is an excellent tool, and I have in the past used Sage200 (too inflexible for us) and MS Dynamics (too big too complex too expensive to adjust): Question was:
We are updating our CRM system to improve our sales, service, and repairs process. We can create a dual function document in the CRM from a template to serve as both an internal job card and a customer quotation. It would be nice to have the ability to electronically send the quote into Xero, which can then be used to create the invoice etc direct from the quote. Our CRM developer is willing to do the work, but needs to know the who where what and how to do this job for us. Can you help?

Any expected timeline for this? We have to deliver quotes first and are wanting to link this to our E-commerce platform.

We use Insighly integration, and it is a real issue to us that Xero quotes are not available.
We work in a regulated environment, so I have to capture our working process in documented procedures - and a link between Insightly and Xero Quotes would really help our workflow.

Surely you can give basic API access, create quote, add quote line, retrieve quote. This is holding us up.

This is really beginning to be irritating...lots of data and it is all going into a black hole where we cannot extract or report on it. How hard can it be to at least provide a basic export button

Was just about to sign up for Xero but may end up choosing a different online accounting system. This is a really important feature for us so our salespeople can generate a quote for a customer without it going through our bookkeeper. It's one of the main reasons we're moving to an online system from Quickbooks Desktop - to free up our bookkeepers time.

Looking at a customer record and being able to see the invoices but not the quotes feels like an arbitrary restriction. I believe xero is working on this: great, I am looking forward to this time saver feature!

This would allow third party apps and CRMs to generate a quote in Xero instead of an invoice. An invoice does not help as we still have to create POs and Bills based on the customer quote. By generating a quote in Xero I can completely get rid of double entry work and finally have a solution that makes me more efficient.

From a work flow perspective, this would help our team a lot. We are looking to generate quotes using our website.

This would help our company greatly.
