Inventory items: additional fields

There are a number of fields supported by inventory items within Xero, not yet exposed via the API:
- Name
- PurchaseDescription
- Quantity on hand
- Whether or not it should be 'tracked'
(+ a bunch of others)

This request is to track reading and creating / updating these fields via the API

    Please add this feature ASAP. I have a customer that desperately needs this feature. I keep telling them it will be any week now since May and here it is in mid October and no word on this yet.

    Need way to push Item Name... it's weird that you can only create item and link it to Purchase but there is no way to push description to Purchase as well... Name should be included in the Items API please.

    It is a shame that this minor detail has had so much frustration allowed to build up.

    Surely this is such a little fix and as it undermines functionality, one would have hoped that when this got flagged in Sep-14 it would have been fixed by last Xmas. As it stands we may be lucky to see it fixed by this Xmas!

    At the moment, only the sales description is returned from a GET, but this is typical less detailed than the more technical internal description. The ability to GET a product name would also be useful.

    Xero, please solve this issue. We have clients using our system that use Xero, they want to cancel their subscription due to the fact that the Name does not get updated. Seriously My grandma can code a Property faster than you, I've read the post this problem comes from a year back. Can you please tell us the state of this

    Hi Peter this feature is so important if you are using Xero for your Commerce Website and need to ensure there is sufficient Stock BEFORE letting the Customer place and pay for the order.

    Hopefully many will also vote for it!

    When an order is placed through the API it would be useful to confirm that the item is in stock prior to confirming the sale. Allowing the number of items in stock to be viewed on an Item Call would allow this to occur.
