Is there any news on this? It's frankly unforgiveable that this should have been left out of the API in the first place - what sort of meaningful use of your 'accounting engine for the internet' do you imagine we can mak without the ability to post a payment to an invoice? Your last comment was 2 months ago. Where is the ability to make an invoice as paid?

@Neil - we hear you - we updated the status of this request yesterday to let everyone know we are working on this - it will be included in our next API update - this will be shortly after we release Multi currency in the Xero app - which is the next Xero release.

Why can't we add a payment via the API? How else am I suppose to tell Xero a payment was received?

I work at a sister company to Phil and we'd also switch to Xero from quickbooks if this was implemented.

I'm actually finding it hard to believe this isn't already implemented. I want to buy Xero, but I'm being pulled towards another-similar-online-accounts-package beginning with K because they have a much fuller API.

This would also solve 1 of the other requests of allowing direct paypal notification of payments. With an API request to record payments, this could be used by the paypal API to immediately notify Xero of a paypal payment. I would be keen to beta this as part of a closed-loop Xero->paypal->Xero transaction
