Expose everything via the API
Everything visible in the web interface should be exposed via the API. In fact ideally the web interface itself would be a client of the API, which would ensure that all useful technology is exposed.

Automatic credit card billing for recurring invoices
You currently allow invoices to be paid using credit card (DPS, PayPal etc).
If it's a recurring invoice (particularly if it's monthly) it'd be great if the client could opt to be billed automatically by credit card.

Let an API link Xero bank rules to Excel, for big time savings
If this only let us export, import, create and delete, it would quickly give big time savings, avoid many errors and encourage better rule coding. However, its value will grow exponentially as we use the combined rules, of many clients, to copy rules between them and new clients. This could soon give all Xero users local and national Excel rule libraries. Their rules could reference rule creators, both for support and to encourage library contributions. The reputation of the rule creator, forum comments on each rule and the Likes (votes) of users will encourage much wider sharing of much better…
15 votesThe API is not suited to this purpose, this would need to be built in the main application in order for users to import/export. Add a payment gateway such as sagepay so that payments for invoices can be taken via Xero
It would be nice to beable to take a payment over the phone using a virtual terminal from within Xero.
Adding a take payment now button when an invoice is approved and adding a payment gateway such as sagepay for this would be very useful.

Have integration with or an import function for Quotewerks
Create a partnership with or API for quotewerks to be able to import or synchronize invoices and purchase orders from quotewerks to xero and visaversa.

allow use of the enter key to move through the fields when inputting data
Currently you have to tab across but when entering lots of numerical data it is much quicker to use enter on the number pad instead

Disable browser autocomplete on global search field
Could the front-end devs please add an
autocomplete=offattribute to Xero's main global search input field like so:<input type="text" id="queryInput" value="xe" autocomplete="off">
The browser's native suggestion dropdown covers the Xero results, which is usually blocking the item you actually want to click on.

Make contact clickable hotlink when entering a bill / sale so you can check details/financials current
After you have selected a contact for a bill, invoice, quote etc, put a hot link or button to be able to edit / view details (address, financial) without having to keep going into contacts and searching for the contact checking and returning

Statement list without zero amounts showing
When listing the statements in accounts receivable to print or email could there be a button to select 'no zero amounts shown' so only the debtors with amounts owing show
This would be so much easier to select statements to print or email at the end of the month

Add visibility of Quotes to the Main dashboard - Alongside Invoices.
Add visibility of quotes summary to the Main dashboard - either under:
"Invoices owed to you" - replacing "draft invoices" or adding alongside "draft invoices".
or
a stand alone "Quotes Summary" section
Now we are using quotes - we have no further need to use "draft invoices". But have No visibility of quotes from the Main Dashboard.

Have the page numbers and "jump to page" option at the top as well as the bottom.

The ability to approve purchase orders, invoices and bills using the Android app
I would like to have the ability to approve all invoices, bills and PO's that have been submitted for approval using the Android app on my phone. Instead of what I have to do not which is to login to the Xero website through my phone and navigate the small text to painstakingly reach the item that requires approval.

The ability to include all open invoices with the statement...
This can either be in the same PDF, or links within the statement PDF. This would avoid asking us for copy invoices, even though they have been sent to them...

Make it possible to back up and restore xero at any point
Xero makes it very difficult to undo transactions and postings if they have been done incorrectly. Could you make it so before handing xero over to clients you could take a back up of the accounts which you could then restore if nessacery and overwrite any mistakes made.

Fast way to reclassify bulk transactions from any type of account, location, or class in Xero.
We need a fast way to reclassify bulk transactions from any type of account, location, or class. QuickBooks has the Reclassify Transactions feature and Xero should have the same.We also need the ability to change account types for bank accounts to any Asset, Liability, Equity, Income, and Expense accounts. My suggestion, give us Xero Partners accountants tools like QuickBooks does for us. Our clients do not get these tools, but QuickBooks ProAdvisors get them. Xero can do the same for us Xero Partners.
