Reports By Tracking Categories
Retrieve reports such as P&L, trial balance & budget by tracking category.
Our customers have requested for the ability to import their tracking categories from Xero into our program for reporting purposes. Any idea when the API will support this?

Thanks for your votes everyone. We have released the ability to retrieve the P&L and balance sheet reports by tracking today: http://blog.xero.com/developer/v2-release-notes/
While budgets by budget (tracking) is available within the main Xero application, we were unable to fit that into this release – we have a new uservoice request thread if you still want to see this feature (http://xero.uservoice.com/forums/5528-xero-api/suggestions/3267328-budget-summary-report-by-budget) but we hope most of you will find the above sufficient.

Having tracking categories supported in budgeting will greatly enhance Xero
But if not on the soon to be delivered list can the API support tracking categories - I am realtively new to Xero and have looked at using Calxa to provide budgets at the two tracking level but have been told by Calxa that the API does not provide the necessary info.

The issue we have is that Xero only supports 2 tracking categories and I have not found any information that details how additional tracking categories can be added or any notification from Xero as to whether this will be increased any time soon - from the other threads I've seen there are some real limitations with this product.
I'm at the point now of having to look at alternative solutions...so if someone can help me or suggest a better online acounting system I'd be greatful

Yes, please budgets by tracking category would be absolutely stunning. We've been doing workarounds for this , and would really love to be able to do it at the click of a mouse. I'm getting more & more clients wanting to do this.

The ability to pull budget/actual data out by tracking category is an absolute must for some of our clients and is stopping us from recommending Xero as a solution for organisations that are project/job oriented

We are getting more and more requests from Not-for-Profits for project budgeting with Xero. We can give them exactly what they want if we can retrieve the Trial Balance by Tracking Category through the API

Same requirement. I need the ability to get a "Trial Balance" by tracking category, similar to the "compare [...]" option on the Profit&Loss report.
We need the ability to provide a BalanceSheet/ProfitAndLoss by tracking category.
If you provide the Trial Balance by TrackingCategory, then I can manage the rest. -
What we need is either Trial Balance by Tracking Category or P & L by Tracking Category. We can currently get a list of Tracking Categories but we want transaction summaries for them
