Apologies but we’ve had to delay the work planned for creating repeating invoices.

We’re investing a bit more time into OAuth 2.0, including the SDKs etc. to make sure everyone has a smooth migration.

It’s still high on our priorities but we don’t have an ETA to share at the moment.

You can retrieve repeating invoices via the API but we have no current plans to add create or update functionality.

We know this would be a useful feature but the team is currently focused on other big features like webhooks.

We’ll re-evaluate the status of this in the new year.

We’re getting some more clarity on our roadmap for the first part of 2016 and unfortunately that’s unlikely to include support for creating/updating repeating invoices.

Today we released the ability to retrieve repeating invoices via a new RepeatingInvoices endpoint: http://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/repeating-invoices/

We have not yet begun work to create repeating invoices, so this endpoint will initially only have utility for those looking to use it for reporting.

We will leave this feature request open and update it as soon as we have further news to share on creating repeating invoices via the API.

We have no current plans to provide this functionality via the API as we have more sought after features to deliver and external systems using the API can easily create invoices on demand. Xero is not suitable as a billing engine, which is what the net effect of exposing repeating invoices via the API would be.

We appreciate there is demand for this feature so we will keep this request open, but it is unlikely to make it onto the development schedule for the next year.
