Budget summary report by budget
The current budget summary API report (http://blog.xero.com/developer/api/reports/#BudgetSummary) returns the overall budget summary report. Within Xero, you can create additional budgets which can be filtered by tracking category. This request is to:
- Provide a Budgets API endpoint
- Allow the budget summary report be filtered by budget
Hi all,
The GET budgets endpoint is now live, but is available exclusively to App Partners who have migrated to OAuth 2.0 and entered into the new App Partner Program https://devblog.xero.com/getting-ready-for-xeros-refreshed-app-partner-program-6e09fa36fce8
The retrieve budgets functionality will be generally available to all integrations on OAuth 2.0 from April 2021.
Note: the new App Partner Program is currently under invite-only Beta with full launch expected to be late 2020.
Checkout the documentation here https://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/budgets
Thanks
Keertika

Please add this capability to be able to have tracked budgets in Spotlight, otherwise what is the point in having tracking! The Spotlight reporting looks fantastic, but I can't use it as I have dump the reports into Excel instead. Will have to seriously consider looking at alternative software...

Hi,
Spotlight is not any use for our organisation if you cannot forecast by tracking.

Please add ability to run actual vs budget by tracking so I can use Spotlight Reporting better.

This is really key to the budgeting functionality - please prioritise

we need to be able to run actual versus budget by tracking categories in order to effectively utilise Spotlight Reporting

I'd like to be able to run Actual v Budget Account Transaction reports for selected accounts only (so Project Managers can track their spend v budget for their accounts only). Would have thought this to be pretty standard?

The process of reporting tracking budget against actual currently available in Xero is a real negative, and at best apparently only available at best through the new P&L report. Being able to export tracking budgets to Spotlight would overcome this. To not be able to easily report by tracking (in our case cost centre) substantially limits functionality.
Please consider this urgently. -

This is vital in order to utilise spotlight reporting where our clients can report against budget per tracker. Please look into this with urgency.

This is critical for us and in reality if we cant do this we need to find out a platform that can
We need to be able to export into Spotlight and decide which Budget we can import
Just like we you can choose cost centre or consultant -

I would welcome the ability to import multiple budget data into spotlight

Can't believe a collaborative system such as this would limit such a feature

Couldn't believe budget reporting by department (tracking category) was not permitted for Xero add ons like Spotlight.
What is the point of Tracking if it cant be used in add ons - major shortfall from a reporting perspective and needs to be addressed urgently pleaseeee

This is becoming more and more necessary - I can't see any good reason why it hasn't been done?

Please add this feature. A lot of my organisations plan by tracking category, so if we cannot load budgets by tracking category, the reporting process becomes somewhat pointless if you can't see the actuals v budget.

We really need this option, otherwise budgeting is pointless in our organisation. Budgets are by tracked departments, not by Chart of accounts. Sounds like accounting software made without accounting specialist.

Please prioritise - it is frustrating to be exporting budget tracking data to excel for reporting purposes.

Please add this feature, otherwise our organisation cannot report to our Board correctly and we will have to move from Xero to another financial system.
