Enhancement of Search Functionality in Manual Journals Screen
Overview
This proposal recommends enhancing the search functionality within the Manual Journals screen by enabling users to search directly using the Journal ID/Number.
Current Limitation
At present, users must rely on journal narration or other descriptive fields to locate specific journal entries. This often requires manually saving or noting down text, which can be inefficient and prone to error, especially when managing large volumes of journals. Alternatively, there is the journal report where you can search for journal ID's however this requires more steps and a more lengthy process when the simplicity of searching for journal number in the screen to then click into and edit , is much more efficient.
Proposed Improvement
Introduce the ability to search for journal entries using the unique Journal ID/Number. This would allow users to quickly and accurately locate specific records without relying on narration or memory.
Key Benefits
Improved Efficiency: Users can instantly retrieve journal entries using a known unique identifier.
Enhanced User Experience: Simplifies the search process and reduces unnecessary steps.
Reduced Errors: Eliminates reliance on partial or inconsistent narration text.
Better Productivity: Speeds up workflows, particularly when editing or reviewing existing journals.
