Can cause all kinds of issues with integrated applications especially when historical Xero Inventory Tracked items are thrown into the mix as these can never be deleted only deactivated.

It's just bizarre that a Status field isn't returned for Items via API. It's near impossible to filter out inactive Items that I don't wish to see.
I also don't understand how, on the Xero web app, any deleted / void Invoices, Bills etc don't show by default, and you have to tick a box to say that you want to see void items. Yet the Inventory screen shows inactive items in the list of active, and there's no way to hide them. IMO the Inventory screen should follow the same consistency as the other sections, and not show them unless you tick a box and search.

Limiting Inventory Items in ApprovalMax to Active Items
We have a number of Tracked Inventory Items which have been made inactive as they have been replaced with Untracked Inventory Items. While they are not available from the drop-down in the Item field in Xero, they still remain in ApprovalMax. I contacted ApprovalMax re this and they advised that "due to a bug in Xero API we cannot filter active items from archived", and recommended that we contact Xero and request that this bug be fixed. -

I can see that enabling write on this flag via the API may be more complex and need more testing, but surely at least exposing it's value for read-only purposes would be trivial and require minimal testing!!

If an inventory item is in use, the delete function is not permitted. In the UI the inactivate function is recommended. Please expose this in the API.
