Request to Expose WIP and Staff Capacities API [XPM]
I wanted to inquire if there are any plans or possibilities to expose APIs for wip and staff capacities in XPM. Such an API could be incredibly valuable for integrating with our internal tools and streamlining workflows.

Import bank statement lines via the API
Be able to import bank statement lines into a bank account in Xero. This would be useful for custom bank accounts or banks that do not have a direct feed into Xero

Provide an API to retrieve the transactions of an account. (e.g. something like this Profit & Loss report-> click on the YTD value of an account)

Customer Credit Limits available via API
Xero has finally released a "Credit Limit" facility for Customer accounts. Please can you make this available through the API?.

add custom fields to contacts
Ability to create or edit additional 'custom' fields to use for notes, additional phone numbers, job descriptions, etc.

Invoice Email PDF Attachment
Currently you cannot send the PDF version of the invoice as an attachment to the invoice via the API.

Allow add multiple Contacts with same name.
It should be different crietaia to add contacts. It should allow contacts with same name , may be have different personal details. validation should not be on name.

This will enable us to sync credit notes locally as well as the invoices.

Enter budgets via the API. Both historical and current.
This would allow us to build tools to do bulk budget exports for multiple periods from our current system. (I think that budgets import might be coming through the user interface anyway, in which case this isn't really needed).

Get the list of projects and invoices / bills lines attached
Currently, it is not possible to get the list of invoices / bills lines attached to a project. Neither via a report nor via API.
It's only possible to get the list of invoices for a particular project in the GUI and we are not even able to get an extract of that info.
We are using other operational systems and need to use this info. Plus, we would like to point out all invoices where there is no project attached and this is currently impossible.
That would be awesome if we could extract this via API.

Approved Invoices:: Should have the facility to "Revert it back to draft"
Once an invoice is approved, it should have the facility to "revert it back to draft"
It is because of the reason that mostly, my client ask me to approve the invoice and then says that it's not yet approved and then i don't have the facility, ultimately it is showing in our accounts that an overdue invoice is available, which is actually not yet approved.
Xero should facilitate us in such a way.

Create more granular accounting scopes (eg: Sales - Invoice only)
Right now there is a very wide range of APIs wrapped up in the "accounting.transactions" scope, with no way to provide more granular access within these APIs (https://developer.xero.com/documentation/guides/oauth2/scopes#organisation-scopes).
This means that it's not possible to grant access to something quite narrow without also granting access to other things that are often not needed. For example, you cannot grant permission to creating/manipulating Sales Invoices without also giving access to all Bank Transactions at the same time.
This problem is perhaps accentuated for Custom Connections, which are designed to be used for "in house" integrations, as ALL developers with access to maintain such a sales invoice integration would effectively have access to their colleague's salaries and company bank balances and nothing can be done to mitigate against this.
It feels like either there should be an extra layer of scopes such as "accounting.transactions.invoice" or "accounting.transactions.sales" available.
I would also think this is quite easy to implement!

To add all fields of bank account details in Create Contact "PUT"/"POST" request.
In Create Contact "PUT"/"POST" request, now only "Bank Account Number" supported. It does not support "Bank Name" or "Details".

Sales Tax - Ability to update the Country field (EU) via API for UK Xero Orgs
Be able to update the EU Country field via the API. This is required and seems very strange to be left out of the API.

Be able to retrieve & e-mail statements to receivable accounts via the API
E-mailing updates to receivable accounts about their payments via the API would be very useful. Via the web interface, this is possible by sending a statement. API request is to be able to retrieve a statement report and email it via the API

Retained Earnings / unrealised FX (system account) journals
Xero has 'system' accounts where journals are not posted, but values are calculated by reports. Therefore when pulling the journals from Xero, we can not accruately recreate the balance sheet and P&L (as vital journals are missing). Therefore in this respect the Xero API is incomplete.
Specific examples of the Journals API misses:
- Retained Earnings journals (this is instead calculated by a report)
- Unrealised FX journals (again calculated and shown only in the report)
- May also be the case for other system accounts.
The calculations made by the reports could be made available via the API to provide a complete set of journals in the API. This would allow third party developers to mirror the full transaction level journal detail that should exist in Xero, and accurately recreate the P&L and Balance Sheet at each period end date based on the conversion balances and all journals posted since.

Link Projects to Invoice Line Items
Currently its impossible to link invoice items (revenue) to projects using the Accounting API. Furthermore, its impossible to modify invoices that have line items that have been linked to projects using the web UI.
This is a show stopper for us who have automated billing solutions and want to track the profitability of those projects within Xero. It's heartbreaking to have to do this outside of Xero.
Please make it possible for us to link invoice line items to Projects in order to use Xero as our Billing engine for invoices and invoice items that are generated outside of Xero using the API.

Provide Non-Crippled Access to Invoice URL via the API
After waiting for years for the ability to access the Invoice URL via the API, it was unfortunately provided in a completely crippled manner.
What should have happened is that the Invoice URL simply be provided along with the rest of the Invoice data through the paging API.
Instead, it is provided on a per-invoice basis, requiring the use of an API call for every URL retrieved. Given the shockingly small limit to API calls, this makes this non-workable.
Your competition, QuickBooks Online, allows 500 calls per MINUTE, compared to Xero's 1000 per DAY. If you had their API limits your implementation of the Invoice URL would be annoying but workable.
However, with your current API limit there is no way to avoid the fact that the current implementation of the Invoice URL via the API is badly, badly crippled.
On behalf of myself and everyone who builds Add-ons on the Xero Platform, improving your eco-system, I would ask you reconsider your implementation of this, or increase the limits on your API 100-fold to a more reasonable 100,000 per day.
